Update on the Freedom Ride
By Peggy Baker
Mother of a Soldier
On March 1, 2004, Dan Forant will begin the Freedom Ride to support our troops in Iraq. Mr. Forant will begin his, nearly 3,000 mile trip, in Albany, N.Y. and finish in Pasadena, California.
New to these combined efforts of Mr. Forant and the Soldier’s Angels Foundation is Keystone Soldiers. This site was founded by Kyle Lord in honor of her son, SPC. Brent Lord, who was deployed during Operation Enduring Freedom. With the start of the war in Iraq, need for communication between families and their soldiers grew. Mrs. Lord has since used her website to bridge this gap. With the assistance of the 1/213th ADA PA Army National Guard Family Support Group she has been able to raise funds to help families, provide some relief from the stress and keep the focus on the brave men and women of our armed forces.
Our military overseas often live far beneath the quality of life we experience here, so as parents of Soldiers for this great country, we ask you to support us in this endeavor by donations. You can contact the websites for further information on how to donate.
Help us show our troops that from the East Coast to the West Coast and in between…………..AMERICA SUPPORTS YOU!
